Heat Shrinking
When we discovered a industrial heat-reactive synthetic that shrinks almost 50% at high temperatures, we had to experiment. We stich it down in patterns on polyester backing, then apply heat. The synthetic tugs and buckles the polyester in strange ways, then disintegrates leaving beautiful irregular pleats. (The technical patent for this process is held by Yoshihiro Kimura)
